About the event

The real magic in 3D printing happens when you are able to create your own designs.  We will learn how to use Autodesk Fusion 360 to design practical and functional products that can be 3D printed.  Each lesson will build on the prior to introduce design concepts and best practices when designing for desktop 3D printers.  Fusion 360 is free for students and hobbyists and is a very powerful 3D modeling tool.  Students will be required to bring their own laptops with Fusion 360 installed.  Download the free personal/hobby licence here.  See the system requirements here.

About your instructor

This class will be taught by Vladimir Mariano.

Vladimir has taught thousands of students how to create their own 3D models in Fusion 360 through his popular online courses. He also teaches the same material at the college level.

As a passionate maker, Vladimir currently runs two makerspaces - the Fairfield County Makers' Guild, and the NCC makerspace where he teaches students how to design with Fusion 360 and how to turn those designs into real objects through 3D printing, laser cutting, and cnc milling.

Vladimir also runs the Desktop Makes YouTube channel with over 1.6 million views.  Here's a video interview of one of his students, who after taking his course, used his new design skills to develop a product and launch a successful Etsy store.

Vladimir's work has been featured by Adafruit, Thingiverse, Hackaday, Makezine, Instructables, Shapeways, and Autodesk.
